Addiction Treatment Program

Program Inception

Working with experts in addiction science, neurology, and endocrinology, we’re utilizing emerging biomarker technologies to collect cortisol levels, galvanic skin response, digital phenotyping, and heart rate variability as a part of a pilot study at a leading addiction recovery program in Marin County

Background on Addiction in the U.S.

Currently, about 8% of addicts who receive treatment remain sober for one year. Data collected in our pilot program unveils biomarkers which distinguish the 8% from the 92%. This predictive model could tailor treatment and allow studies to produce meaningful strides in recovery statistics

Current Pilot Study

Strategic Aid Partners is currently pursuing a pilot study with 30 participants in the San Francisco Bay Area. The study will consist of two phases, data collection, and statistical analysis. The goal is to collect a wealth of data and extrapolate interconnections of those sample points as it pertains to an individual’s desire to relapse. Employing researchers from Stanford, UC Berkeley and UCSF to evaluate the data collected in phase one. The goal is to statistically establish which biomarkers indicate an impending addiction relapse.

Future Aspirations

We aim to conduct a nationwide study to normalize the data and results for the U.S. population. Using the statistical results in phase 2 of the study, Strategic Aid Partners aims to refine wearable devices that predict an impending addiction relapse.

Global Tele-education

Concept and Methodology

Concept

First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let Girls Learn initiative is rooted in the idea that “To educate a girl is to build a healthier family, a stronger community, and a brighter future.” MASS and Strategic Aid Partners share this vision of systemic impact through education and seek to bring Michelle Obama’s vision to Liberia through the construction of a new secondary boarding school—Excel Academy—located just outside the capital of Monrovia. The pedagogical focus of the school will be STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) and will harness expert knowledge in the Bay Area via Strategic Aid Partners to develop and apply curriculum.

Methodology

MASS Design is a team of over 120+ architects, landscape architects, engineers, builders, furniture designers, writers, film makers, and researchers. MASS will build a case for the critical importance of Excel Academy in Liberia. MASS and Strategic Aid Partners will craft a video communications strategy to engage FLOTUS to seek funding for the capital project. MASS will craft the narrative approach and video content for an initial pitch, to be delivered to the Obamas by Strategic Aid Partners network of supporters, such as Gov. Jerry Brown, former Mayor of Boston Ray Flynn, and Secretary of State John Kerry.
